Bill was born April 16, 1954 in Amarillo to David and Lois Cheatheam. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1973. He attended Amarillo College and West Texas State University. Bill worked as a general contractor for Plains Builders, Wiley Hicks, Jr., and Western Builders. He owned and operated Cheatheam Construction for 25 years. He married Annette Clark in 2015. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church. Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and back-packing. He was also a golfer and loved to play billiards. He enjoyed trail riding on horseback. He was an adventure rider with Grace ADV.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Clark of Amarillo; a son, Dustin David Cheatheam of Amarillo; two daughters, Faith Montano and husband Adrian, and Sytha Cheatheam all of Amarillo; his mother, Lois Cheatheam of Amarillo; a brother, Bob Cheatheam of Amarillo; a sister, Melody Griffin of Amarillo; and two grandsons, Dawson and Declan.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Larkin Cheatheam.
