Weldon Conyers

December 20, 1953 ~ July 17, 2025 (age 71)

Weldon Conyers-Holleman was born in Amarillo, Texas, to Mary Conyers Meander and Ellis Holleman.

Weldon received his formal education from North Heights Elementary School. Later he attended Stephen F. Austin. He graduated from Amarillo High School. Weldon decided to attend Southern University of Oklahoma.

He was a construction worker and eventually a truck driver for many years until his health started to fail him. He didn’t stop there, Weldon became an independent contractor, doing a vast range of jobs, until he couldn’t. He loved dogs, especially pit bulls (Macoose, Diablo).

Weldon was preceded by his mother, Mary Conyers Meander; father, Ellis Holleman; brother, Darrell Meander; sister, Sharon Thompson.

Weldon is also survived by six sisters, Betty Allen, Jimmy Dale Conyers both of Atlanta, Georgia, Drucilla Meander of Houston, Texas, Debra (Frank) Phillips of Fate, Texas, Pamela Meander of Katy, Texas, Shirley (Dewayne) Hawthorn, Janice Tummons of Amarillo, Texas; brothers, Roosevelt (Ivory) of Sylvania, Georgia, Charles Meander of Amarillo, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews.
